What have we learned about plants?

Plants grow flowers and flowers have petals – Sabaa
Roots have 3 jobs: the first is to suck up nutrients – Chloe; the second is to suck up water – Leo; the third is to support the stem and leaves – Mckenzie.
Flowers are different colours – Suleman. Their job is to attract bees and butterflies – Connor and Katie.
The job of leaves is to turn sunshine into food for the plant – Nauman This is called photosynthesis – Mr Sutton
Plants start life as a seed – Fatimah
The seed comes from a seedpod – Phoebe
Bees pollinate the flower and afterwards it forms a seedpod – Alex and Maisy
A seed needs soil, water and warmth before it will germinate – Phoebe, Maisy, Sabaa

In year 2 we have been planting some plants.

DO YOU NOW that bees can come to the flower and get hunny. So we can eat it.

I love flowers and we have been plating some our own.

I like flowers beause they smell nice.
